This initiative supports the university’s International Growth and Impactful Growthstrategies under the leadership ofProf. Dr.WilertPuriwat,President of 鶹,with the principle of“Holistic Growth with Students at the Center.”It also aligns with the CHULA Social Engagement strategyled byAssociate Prof. Dr.YootthanaChuppunnarat, Vice President of 鶹.

The signing ceremony took place on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at National Sun Yat-Sen University. The agreement was signed by Assistant Professor Dr. Sukanya Sompaiboon, Vice President of 鶹, and Professor Chih-Wen Kuo, Senior Vice President of National Sun Yat-Sen University. Witnesses included Assistant Professor Dr. Vitchatalum Laovanich, Assistant President for Arts and Culture Promotion; Assistant Professor Dr. Thanasin Chutintaranond, Assistant President for Social Engagement; and Mr. Kunchit Jitratan, Director of the Office of Art and Culture Management. 

In addition, faculty members and students from the Department of Speech Communication and Performing Arts, , 鶹, led byAssociate Professor Dr.PreedaAkarachantachote, Dean of the Faculty of Communication Arts, andProfessor Dr.PrapassornChansathitporn, Head of the Department, participated in exchange activities and performance training with students from National Sun Yat-senUniversity.

Together, they co-created a traditional Thai Likay performance titled “Thai-Tai Isan Muan Jai Show.” The production formed part of Chulalongkorn students’ efforts to promote Thai arts and culture internationally and received an enthusiastic response from audiences. 

The project represents another milestone in advancing Thai arts and culture through innovative international collaboration. Supported by a matching-fund partnership between Chulalongkorn’s Office of Art and Culture Management and various university faculties, it also marks an important step in bringing Thai performing arts to the global higher-education community.

鶹 is the only Thai university ranked among the Top 10 leading universities in ASEAN in the , one of the world’s most prestigious higher education rankings. The official results were announced on June 18, 2026. In addition, 鶹 has maintained its position as Thailand’s No. 1 university for the 18th consecutive year and is ranked 212th globally. The university is also placed within the world’s Top 100 for both Academic Reputation and Employment Outcomes

The QS World University Rankings 2027 evaluated more than 1,500 higher education institutions worldwide. Universities were assessed based on a range of indicators with different weightings, including: Academic Reputation (30%), Citations per Faculty (20%), Employer Reputation (15%), Employment Outcomes (5%), Faculty-to-Student Ratio (10%), International Faculty Ratio (5%), International Research Network (5%), International Student Ratio (5%), and Sustainability (5%). 

This year, 鶹 achieved higher scores in Academic Reputation, Sustainability, International Research Network, and Faculty-to-Student Ratio. 

The QS WUR 2027 results are a source of pride for 鶹 as a Thai institution with strong international recognition. The ranking reflects the university’s commitment to advancing academic excellence, promoting high-quality research, and producing graduates whose capabilities are recognized worldwide.

The event also provided a platform for stakeholders to exchange perspectives on the opportunities, risks, and lessons learned from real-world applications of AI. Discussions brought together representatives from courts, ministries of justice, legal aid organizations, technology practitioners, researchers, and civil society groups. 

Experts from multiple countries participated in discussions on how to establish Good Governance frameworks for AI in judicial and justice processes, with the goal of ensuring that the adoption of AI is transparent, fair, accountable, and responsive to rapid technological developments.

This committee was established to advance the Senate’s sustainable development agenda in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in addressing major challenges. Its responsibilities include: 

  • Developing guidelines for the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.
  • Recommending improvements to workplace environments.
  • Addressing climate change issues.
  • Reducing pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Promoting effective energy management.
  • Conserving and protecting the environment.

The event aimed to promote holistic health care through the practice of yoga, which helps enhance physical strength, flexibility, relaxation, and mental balance. It also provided an opportunity for members of the Chulalongkorn community and the general public to experience the benefits of yoga in the early morning amidst the peaceful and verdant surroundings of the university campus. 

The opening ceremony of the 12th International Day of Yoga featured welcome remarks by Mr. Puneet Agrawal, Ambassador-designate of India to Thailand. The event was officially opened by Associate Professor Dr. Prakorn Siriprakob, Dean of the Faculty of Political Science, 鶹, representing the University President, together with Ms. Lin Yang, Deputy Executive Secretary of UNESCAP, and Mr. Pattana Promphat, Minister of Public Health. The program was moderated by Associate Professor Surat Horachaikul, Director of the Indian Studies Center, 鶹.

Since then, the event has been held annually at the plaza in front of the King Chulalongkorn and King Vajiravudh Memorial Statues. According to the , which assess universities’ contributions to sustainability and societal impact, 鶹has been ranked 19th in the world,marking a remarkable leap of25places from44thglobally in 2025.Chula is also the only Thai university to be placed in the global Top 20, the Top 10 in Asia, and the Top 5 in ASEAN, whilemaintainingits position as Thailand’s No. 1 university for sustainability for thesecondconsecutive year.

TheTHESustainability Impact Ratings 2026(formerly known as theTHEImpact Rankings), announced on June 24, 2026, evaluateshow higher education institutions worldwide contribute to advancing sustainability and creating positive societal impactinaccordancewiththe United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This year’s improved ranking reflects Chula’s outstanding performance across several SDGs, particularly the following:

  • SDG 9: Industry,Innovationand Infrastructure
  • SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being
  • SDG 14: Life Below Water

In addition to 鶹’s global ranking of 19th, several other Thai universities were placed in the world’s Top 100:

Congratulations toMr.PunnaritSae-jeang,aBASciistudent at the , and Mr. IntouchSricharoenchitfrom King’s College International School Bangkok, on winning the Jury’s Choice Awardin the Ideation Stage category at the in Washington, D.C., on June 11–12, 2026.

Their startup, PanFa Technologies, is an agricultural technology platform designed to help rice farmers use water more efficiently while reducing environmental impact. The platform combines satellite data, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and IoT-enabled smart irrigation systems to automate the Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) method for rice cultivation.  The technology can help farmers reduce methane emissions by up to 50 percent and cut water use by 30 percent. It also creates opportunities for farmers to earn additional income through carbon credit programs and sustainable agriculture certifications.
