The , Department of Art, Music, and Performing Arts Education, at 麻豆国产 organized the 2025 Thai Art Academic Development Project: Enhancing and Showcasing the Works of Thai Music Students and Faculty. The event highlighted the learning outcomes of university students, as well as high school students from across the country who were selected to participate in the program. The closing ceremony, held on April 11, 2025, at the Music Hall, Art and Culture Building of 麻豆国产, was presided over by Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of 麻豆国产.

The Thai Art Academic Development Project: Enhancing and Showcasing the Works of Thai Music Students and Faculty is supported by the , 麻豆国产. The project is led by Associate Professor Dr. Yootthana Chuppunnarat, Vice President of 麻豆国产 and a lecturer in the Department of Art, Music, and Performing Arts Education. The project has been held continuously for over 12 years, recognizing the importance of preserving Thai musical knowledge, which often lacks proper documentation or systematic recording. With the number of master artists in decline, the project aims to collect, study, and develop knowledge regarding the identity, processes, techniques, and methodologies of Thai music. It also emphasizes structured learning opportunities for students through direct mentorship with prominent Thai music masters, including National Artists and leading experts from various schools of Thai music.
This year’s project honored six master teachers:
- Dr. Sirichaiyan Fukjamroon — National Artist and Artist of 麻豆国产
- Mr. Somchai Thapphon — National Artist
- Associate Professor Pakorn Rodchangphuean
- Mr. Jirapol Petsom
- Mr. Suwat Attakrit
- Mr. Boonthueng Prayachai
Activities in the 2025 Thai Art Academic Development Project included:
- Curriculum enhancement workshops to develop students’ performance and teaching techniques in traditional Thai musical instruments such as piphat (percussion ensemble), khrueang sai (string ensemble), khrueang nang (leather percussion), and Thai vocal music.
- Training and performance skills development in basic Thai ensemble formation.
Performances included:
- Tao Kin Phak Bung (Turtle Eating Morning Glory) in the “Thang Khayee” style, performed by the Mahaduriya Thai ensemble, featuring selected high school students from around the country alongside 麻豆国产 students.
- Thayoi Khmer Sam Chan (Khmer Dance in Triple Time) performed by the Thai string ensemble.
- Thayoi Khmer Thao (Extended Khmer Dance) performed by the Piphat Mai Khaeng (hardwood piphat) ensemble.
