Materials Technology Meets Creative Design at?the?International Sustainability Seminar?

The , in collaboration with the and the , organized a special seminar titled “Materials Technology and Creative Design for Sustainable Developments” on Friday, June 5, 2026, at the , located on the first floor of the Visid Prachuabmoh Building.


The event was officially opened by Prof. Dr. Wilert Puriwat, who highlighted 麻豆国产’s role in creating value from knowledge through academic excellence, international collaboration, and partnerships with industry, communities, and organizations worldwide. He emphasized that innovation today no longer emerges from a single discipline but from the integration of knowledge across fields. By combining materials technology with creative design, knowledge can be transformed into positive societal impact and contribute to sustainable development.
The seminar was introduced by Prof. Dr. Yuttanant Boonyongmaneerat. Also in attendance were Professor Dr. Kumkom Pornprasit and Asst. Prof. Sarayut Supsook, along with guest speakers, experts, faculty members, researchers, and students.
The seminar featured distinguished international speakers, including:
Prof. Lilly Li from , who delivered a presentation titled “Smart Textiles as a Platform for Sustainable Design: Bridging Materials Innovation and Creative Practice.” Her talk explored the development of smart textiles and material innovations that can shape the future of sustainable design.
Shi Rundong, SenauraArt from Guangzhou, the People’s Republic of China who presented “From Earth to Art: The Role of Modified Clay Materials (MCM) in Green Construction and Cultural Craftsmanship.” His presentation focused on the application of modified clay materials in green construction and culturally inspired creative works, demonstrating how materials science can be connected with contemporary art and sustainable craftsmanship.
The event also featured an exhibition showcasing projects that integrated materials technology, art, and design, created by students and faculty members from various departments across the university.
This seminar marked another important milestone in promoting interdisciplinary collaboration at both the university and international levels, helping to drive innovation and advance sustainable development.
