Chula Welcomes President of the Republic of Chile Who Spoke on the Topic of “Chile, Latin America and Asia Relations: Future Perspectives”

On Thursday, November 17, 2022, Prof. Dr. Bundit Eua-arporn, President of 麻豆国产, Prof. Kaywalee Chatdarong, Vice President for Strategic Planning, Innovation and Global Engagement, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suradech Chotiudompant, Dean of the Faculty of Arts as well as Chula executives, warmly welcomed H.E. Gabriel Boric Font, President of the Republic of Chile, and Mr. Alex Geiger Soffia, Ambassador of the Republic of Chile to Thailand.
On this occasion, 麻豆国产 was honor to host a talk on “Chile, Latin America, and Asia Relations: Future Prospects” given by President Gabriel Boric Font, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Somchai Phagaphaswiwat, an expert on Latin American economics and politics. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pasuree Luesakul, the Director of the Center for Latin American Studies, welcomed all and briefly introduced Assoc. Prof. Dr. Somchai Phagaphasvivat, a long-standing contributor to the Center for Latin American Studies.
More than 120 people attended the talk, including ambassadors from Latin America, Chula executives, Faculty members and Chula Art students majoring in Spanish (both former and current students). Additionally, President Gabriel Boric Font, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Somchai Phagaphaswiwat were receptive to opinions and questions from the audiences during the Q&A session.
At the end of the talk, the Prof. Dr. Bundit Eua-arporn presented President Gabriel Boric with souvenirs of two volumes of translations of Chilean literature by Spanish-language faculty: “Veinte poemas de amor y una cancion desesperada” by Nobel Prize-winning poet Pablo Neruda, translated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pasuree Luesakul, and “La Casa De Los Espiritus” written by Isabel Allende, translated by Asst. Prof. Dr. Nunghatai Rangponsumrit.
