The Tai-Kadai Museum, located in the Maha Vajiravudh Building at the Faculty of Arts, 麻豆国产, houses and displays the clothing and jewelry of Tai-Kadai women, along with artifacts from other ethnic groups in Sekong Province, Laos.

This museum was established as a result of field research conducted by Professor Dr. Pranee Kullavanich and Professor Dr. Teeraphan Luangthongkam, who initiated the project to collect data and exhibits in commemoration of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit’s 60th birthday in 1992.The museum serves as a valuable learning resource on the ethnicity, language, and culture of the Tai-Kadai groups in Southeast Asia.

Our Services

The Tai-Kadai Museum serves as an ethnographic and cultural learning center for the Tai-Kadai ethnic groups in Southeast Asia. Through exhibitions and information resources based on field research, it supports the education, research, and learning of students, scholars, and the general public. The museum offers various exhibits and services, including:

  • An exhibition on Tai-Kadai ethnic stories.
  • Displays of clothing, textiles, jewelry, and artifacts from the Tai-Kadai ethnic group.
  • Access to documents, articles, books, and maps concerning the distribution and grouping of Tai-Kadai ethnic groups.

Opening Hours

  • The start of the school term: Monday to Friday, 8:00 A.M. – 6:00 P.M.
  • During school holidays: Monday to Friday, 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
  • Closed on public holidays.
  • Entrance fee is 20 baht.
